2nd double page spread analysis

This is my second double page spread analysis, we can clearly see that the main focal point of the magazine is about the main member of 'The Black Eyed Peas' Will.I.Am, this displays an interview with the artist.

colour scheme

On this double page spread the colour scheme consists of 4 main colours: white, black, grey and gold, these colours are included in the main image, the main title and the article itself. White is used for the background to ensure that the main image of the 4 people stands out, it also gives the spread a modern yet basic look.

The main title of this article is placed on the left hand side just below the waistline of the group, half of it is highlighted in gold, the other half is in grey, this gives it a more attractive look and also makes the reader more interested in reading on as it shows that Will.I.Am is going to be answering an important question, therefore the audience would want to find out what it is. The main text of the interview is displayed on the right hand side of the spread, the font is highlighted in black, making it quite easy to read, also some of the text is made slightly bigger and bolder which may be telling the reader that this is an important section, some of the text also has a black box highlighted around it, the text is made slightly bigger and is highlighted in white, this makes it stand out to the reader and gives the impression that this is an interesting and main point made in the interview.

The design of the spread is quite basic and simple, there are no different elements on the pages of other stories, features and varying pictures, this allows the reader to focus entirely on the main story/article of Will.I.Am. The spread does not look cramped full of different pictures and banners but it still looks as though all the pace on the page is being utilized fully.

The main image is of the 4 members of The Black Eyed Peas, they are standing side by side and all are looking directly at the camera, this image takes up about two thirds of the spread, all apart from Will.I.Am have been faded slightly/ made slightly transparent into the background, whereas Will.I.Am is clearly displayed, this would automatically tell the reader that the article is not about the whole group, but is just focussed primarily on him. The colour of the clothes they are wearing links with the general colour scheme of the spread, Will.I.Am's clothes are mostly gold, and the rest of the group are mainly wearing black and grey.
