Construction of front page

1)To construct my magazine front page the first step I took was importing this chosen photo into photoshop. I cut out the image of the just the model as I did not want to use the background that was in the photo. After is experimented with the Hue/saturation toolbar and decided that the image would look best in black and white as this would relate to my chosen colour scheme for the magazine.

2) Next I had to decide on the style, colour and size of the font for my chosen magazine name. I wanted it to look quite modern and to stand out, therefore I have the font highlighted in a vibrant pink colour and had it spread across the entire width of the page.

3) After a considerable amount of time i chose this picture as the background, i imported it inot photoshop and used the marquee tool to cut it out and paste onto this page, then sorted the sequence of the layers to have it situated behind the image of the model and the magazine name.

4) The next step was choosing the font style, colour, position and size for the main title of the main story.I decided the majority of the text would be highlighted in white and one word 'Arrived' would be highlighted in pink to emphasize that word. The title is situated at the bottom of the page because I wanted the main image to be displayed as much as possible. I also added two banners using the rectangle tool to go at the top of the page which is highlighted in white and I edited the opacity level to make it slightly transparent, the same went for the banner at the bottom of the page except this banner is highlighted in black.

5) Next I used the lassoo tool to go around the tie, I then used the Hue/saturation tool box to make the tie pink to link it to the colour scheme, I also input the barcode which is placed near the bottom right hand corner, the barcode will be edited further later on in the construction.

6) In this next stage I used the rectangle tool to draw a small box highlighted in white to join onto the barcode, text was then added inside that box to display the magazine price highlighted in black. Underneath the barcode I added text consisting of the magazine website address and was highlighted in white, I once again used the rectangle tool to draw a box around the website address which was highlighted in pink and made slightly transparent by lowering the opacity level. I added six pieces of text which was for the magazine sub-stories, these were situated on the main image from the shoulders down to the black banner, the pieces of text alternated between pink and white.
7) Finally I used the ellipse tool to created my PUG, I drew two circles, one colour blue the other white, I made the white circle slightly smaller and placed it on top of the blue one which gave the PUG a blue outline. I input a piece of text for the magazine issue date which was highligheted in white and placed to the left just underneath the banner at the top.
